Northern Mississauga was built in two waves, and both are due
Meadowvale was developed as a planned community in the 1970s. Churchill Meadows came much later — the fourth phase of the Erin Mills build-out, with its homes going up mostly between 2000 and 2010 — and Lisgar filled in through the late 1990s and early 2000s. Run those dates against a 13–17 year asphalt life, the range Colum arrived at from a decade of surveying the roofs he was tearing off rather than from a warranty document, and the picture is stark. A 1975 Meadowvale bungalow is on its third or fourth asphalt roof. A 2004 Churchill Meadows home is at or past the end of its second. Neither owner is choosing between asphalt and metal for the first time; they are deciding whether to keep restarting a cycle they have already paid for twice.
Streetsville and Meadowvale Village are not suburbs, and shouldn’t be roofed like them
Streetsville was founded in 1820 and Meadowvale Village in 1819 — both were working villages long before Mississauga existed as a city, and both still read that way on the street. A standing seam panel that looks right on a 2005 build in Churchill Meadows can look badly wrong on a nineteenth-century house on Queen Street South. That is what the Wakefield Bridge steel shingle profile is for: it carries the shadow line and visual texture of a traditional roof while performing as steel. We install four profiles from Ideal Roofing and the right one depends on the house, the roof geometry and the streetscape — which is a site-visit conversation, not a brochure decision.
Where we are based, plainly
Select Metal Roofing is a Creemore company. We are not a Mississauga firm and we have no office, showroom or yard here — we would rather state that than dress a service-area page up as a local storefront. What is true is that a crew works the Mississauga–Milton–Georgetown corridor, and that Colum still attends the site visit himself. What it also means is that we are straight about fit: our work here is full roof replacement, and if a small repair would be better handled by someone closer, we will tell you that instead of quoting it.
